물이 바다로 흘러들어 가면, 그 바닷물이 되살아납니다. 강가 이쪽저쪽에는 온갖 과일나무가 자라는데요. 잎도 시들지 않고 과일도 끊이지 않고 다달이 새 과일을 내놓습니다. 물이 성전에서 나오기 때문이에요. 그 과일은 양식이 되고 잎은 약이 됩니다.

이 물은 동쪽 지역으로 나가, 아라바로 내려가서 바다로 들어간다. 이 물이 바다로 흘러들어 가면, 그 바닷물이 되살아난다. 그래서 이 강이 흘러가는 곳마다 온갖 생물이 우글거리며 살아난다. 이 물이 닿는 곳마다 바닷물이 되살아나기 때문에, 고기도 아주 많이 생겨난다. 이렇게 이 강이 닿는 곳마다 모든 것이 살아난다.

This water flows out into the eastern district, runs down into the Arabah and empties into the polluted waters of the sea to freshen them. Wherever it flows, the river teems with every kind of living creature; fish will abound. Where these waters flow they refresh; everything lives where the river goes. Fishermen will stand along its shore from En-gedi to En-eglaim; it will become a place for drying nets, and it will abound with as many kinds of fish as the Great Sea. Its marshes and swamps shall not be made fresh, but will be left for salt.

Cette eau coule vers la région de l’orient, elle descend dans la vallée du Jourdain, et se déverse dans la mer Morte, dont elle assainit les eaux. En tout lieu où parviendra le torrent, tous les animaux pourront vivre et foisonner. Le poisson sera très abondant, car cette eau assainit tout ce qu’elle pénètre, et la vie apparaît en tout lieu où arrive le torrent. Alors des pêcheurs se tiendront sur la rive depuis Enn-Guèdi jusqu’à Enn-Églaïm ; on y fera sécher les filets. Les espèces de poissons seront aussi nombreuses que celles de la Méditerranée. Mais ses marais et ses bassins ne seront pas assainis : ils seront réservés au sel.
