겸손이란, 내가 가지고 있는 것만큼 행동하는 사람이다. 겸손이란, 자기 자신을 제대로 아는 사람이다. 자기의 능력과 위치를 아는 사람이다.
겸손은 자기 분수를 아는 것이라고 할 수 있다. 겸손한 사람은 자기의 분수를 안다. 교만은 이와 반대로 자기 자신을 모르는 사람이다. 자기가 있어야 할 자리를 떠나는 것이 교만이다.
